Information for Referees
References play a crucial part in our decision making. Each application must be supported by two references. We cannot consider any requests for funding until we have both.
Your reference must be on departmental letterhead and/or from an official email address. The individual or organisation requiring your reference should have provided you with their application number. Please ensure this is included in any subject header or file names that you send to us.
All references must be submitted to secretary@gmctf.org before Friday, 6th March 2026 (23:59, GMT).
If you are providing a reference for an organisation:
Please ensure that your reference includes details of the following:
Your relationship to the organisation.
Your opinions on:
the organisation’s capacity to deliver the work
the impact of the work; and
the importance of the work for South Sudan or Sudan; and
the proposed budget.
If you are providing a reference for an individual:
Please ensure that your reference includes details of the following:
The suitability and aptitude of the student for the course.
The quality of their work, if known to you.
The financial position of the student, and their need for a grant from GMCTF.
The student's proficiency in English in relation to the course.
Information on the student's plans to return to South Sudan/Sudan on completion of the course.
